TEC Arena Connect Kochi - CS: GO Lan Recap
TEC Arena Connect Kochi was supposed to host two semifinal matches between the top four teams from the online qualifiers. Since one of the teams backed out of the tournament, Team Retaliation directly qualified for the Grand Finals. The only semifinal game was between Aqua Gaming and Firedup Gaming, and the winner gets to join Team Retaliation in the Grand Finals.
The semifinal was a best-of-one matchup on the map of Ancient. Both teams had one chance, so neither could afford any mistakes. Firedup Gaming dominated their opponents as they closed the first half with a 9-6 scoreline. Firedup Gaming went on to win the semifinals with a 16-12 scoreline as the captain "ReApErMonsta" made the victory look easy.
Firedup Gaming carried on their momentum to the best-of-three Grand Finals against Team Retaliation. The first map was Firedup Gaming's pick of Inferno, where Team Retaliation started strong but couldn't consolidate it. "RobbeN" and "L0ngBarrel" led Firedup Gaming to victory in the first game with 49 combined kills.
In the second game, Team Retaliation picked Mirage as their map pick, and it was their last opportunity to stay in contention to win the Grand Finals. Like the previous map, Team Retaliation started strong but failed to convert rounds in their favour. Twenty-six kills from Firedup Gaming's "Crush" helped them secure their second map of the Grand Finals with a 16-10 scoreline, crowing them as the TEC Arena Connect Kochi CS: GO Grand Finals winner. Firedup Gaming won the gorgeous looking trophy alongside Rs. 1,00,000 cash prize, while the runners-up, Team Retaliation, went home with Rs. 60,000.
