The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs' integration of esports with traditional sports in December 2022 played a significant role in this shift toward competitive gaming. Nearly a year later, on December 5, 2023, the Bihar State Sports Authority announced the inaugural Bihar State Esports Open Championship. The event is expected to take place from December 7 to December 28.

Bihar State Esports Open Championship
The Patliputra Sports Complex in Kankarbagh, Patna, will host the LAN grand finals. The Bihar State Esports Open Championship is scheduled to be a three-week long, competitive state-wide competition. The tournament is expected to run from December 7 through December 28. The official schedule and all of the significant dates are listed here.
Registration Phase (7th-14th December)
The eagerly expected esports competition begins on December 7, 2023, when the Registration Phase opens. During this time, aspiring competitors from throughout the state are welcome to register for the competition.
Online Phase (16th- 22nd December)
The competition will move to the Online Phase after the registration period, which is set for December 16–22, 2023. Players will compete virtually in a variety of esports disciplines, testing their skills in virtual combat.
Grand Finals (28th December)
The Grand Finals, scheduled for December 28, 2023, will be the highest point of the competition. This thrilling match will take place at the renowned Patliputra Sports Complex in Kankarbagh, Patna.
The BSSA, the state sports regulating organization of Bihar, is hosting this maiden esports competition. Even though it lacks previous competitive gaming expertise and organizing an event of this magnitude will undoubtedly be difficult, the Indian gaming community praises the attempt. The announcement was shared using BSSA's official Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn sites. Even though the tournament's initial criteria have been made public, there hasn't been much information released, which has led both gamers and future athletes to voice their concerns.
