Apex Legends Global Series Season 3 came to an end with TSM becoming the champions, taking away a prize money of $600,000. With an extremely successful season 3, EA has announced season four of ALGS to take place at the beginning of 2024. The pre-season qualifiers will take place this year in November and December, with the pro circuit starting next year. The revised minimum account level required to participate in the ALGS is now level 50. Before this, any player with a Silver 4 or above ranking could take part in open ALGS events, i.e., Pre-Season Qualifier and Challenger Circuit.

The structure of ALGS Year 4 is largely the same as that of ALGS Year 3 as the entire prize pool has not changed. A total of $5 million will be given away throughout the competition. The Challenger Circuit, Pro League, and Pre-Season Qualifiers all follow the same format. The regional finals will also be taking place in Year 4. ALGS will also host three  LAN events this year, a $2 million ALGS Championship at the end of the season and two $1 million playoff tournaments. The Pre-Season Qualifiers will take place from 25 November to 18 December 2023. The Pro League will be held at the end of January 2024 and the Challenger Circuit Split 1 will start on 3 February 2024.

Other important announcements that took place were that The People's Republic of China was added as a new region, and it was revealed that South America will no longer have a Pro League system to serve as its "regular season" and system for LAN tournament qualification. Instead, China and South America will have at least two guaranteed LAN slots each, with South American teams qualifying through a series of Challenger Circuit tournaments culminating in a match-point Regional Finals and China's teams being invited by the ALGS. Both regions will have a chance to win additional LAN slots for their regions, depending on how well the Chinese and South American teams perform at the Split One Playoffs.

The regional slot distribution for Split 1 Playoffs are:

  • North America - 12
  • EMEA - 8
  • APAC North - 8
  • APAC South - 8
  • South America - 2
  • China - 2 (invited)

The Preseason Qualifier registration will begin on October 23, 2023, at the following link. The updated rulebook for Apex Legends Global Series Year 4 can be found here.
