Highlights

Hydra Esports is one of the oldest Indian esports and content organisations founded by Aaditya "Dynamo" Sawant, which included creators like Alpha Clasher, Python Gaming, Bitty and many more. Hydra Esports gained popularity over the past few years with a promising content team in their boot camp.

Unfortunately, Hydra had to close its boot camp, and many creators left the organisation, leaving Dynamo at a heavy loss. To recover from the loss, Dynamo allegedly asked his ex-creators to pay him some money for the facilities and equipment they used, which led to a massive controversy in the Indian Gaming Community.

Hydra Controversy Explained: Dynamo Gaming Responds

Back in 2018-2019, when PUBG Mobile was taking over the gaming scene in India, Dynamo Gaming was one of the creators whose fanbase was growing exponentially. At the time, Dynamo started his content team called Hydra Esports, which included names like Alpha Clasher, Bitty, and many more.

Over time, when content creation was booming in India, Hydra Esports decided to expand by opening a boot camp for their creators. Opening a boot camp and managing it was a financially heavy task. According to Dynamo, they invested over Rs. 60 Lakh over two years.

The Hydra boot camp had ten creators, and to sustain their organisation, creators used to pay around 30% of their income towards running Hydra. Since only some creators could pay this 30%, the burden to run Hydra was on the back of other creators. After a while, Hydra had to shut down their boot camp, and almost all the creators left Hydra.

Since the investment in the boot camp didn't go as planned, Dynamo claimed to have faced heavy losses, allegedly asking his ex-creator to minimise by paying some money back since it was everyone's duty to run it. When the creators refused to pay the amount, Dynamo requested them to pay for the PCs the creators took with them after the closure of boot camp.

Dynamo talked extensively about the controversy on his live stream, the expensive PCs he got for his creators, his sacrifices, and the heavy investment. He claims that he even invested his father's pension of Rs. 15 Lakh to sustain the boot camp. He claimed that no one reciprocated his investments and sacrifices after he faced the loss. According to him, the creators were creating false controversy and even called out Revenant Esports by questioning their workings after the claims made by Bitty on his live stream.

    Alpha Clasher Story

After these claims surfaced, Alpha Clasher was upset with Dynamo about mentioning Revenant Esports in this controversy. In his story, he said he would go live to talk about the statement made by Dynamo.

Bitty Responds To Dynamo On Live Stream

    https://www.youtube.com/live/KSXvoUj4zv0?feature=share

On his live stream, Bitty mentioned the creators faced financial difficulties when they ran the Hydra boot camp. Bitty says since they had already given a part of their income while they were in the boot camp, it was pointless for Dynamo to ask for money for the loss.

Bitty also addresses the claim regarding the payment for PCs. He said the creators were ready to pay but wanted Dynamo to share the bill. The creators have yet to receive the bill for the PCs built in the boot camp.

    Bitty Whatsapp Chat

Apart from that, Hydra was a part of many brand deals, and the creators did the collaborations with them and created videos around them. According to Bitty, the brand money received is still with Hydra, and they haven't given it to any creators.

As time passes, more and more people are getting involved with controversy. As his story mentions, Alpha Clasher will stream his take on this topic to narrate his point of view on the boot camp and the PC bills.

Ex GodLike Esports athlete, and current Carnival Gaming content creator, Suraj "Neyoo" Majumdar has found himself in deep trouble after a clip of him abusing a minor went viral on social media. Deepika shared some details about the YouTuber and the audience started asking her to dig a bit deeper into the controversy, mentioning that he has had a problematic past and has been verbally abusive towards kids, women and his fellow gamers. In the following tweets, she said that she has no personal agenda against anyone, and she is not after gamers, but is just pointing out the abuse that people are engaging in. She said:

For all those from the gaming community coming at me after this - I don't have any personal grudges with him but highlighted the abuse which he uttered on a stream. I understand there are many like him. Equal condemnation for them too.

I am not the authority to take all of these abusive men/women to task. I have filed FIR in one case and I shall pursue that to try to bring a change to the abusive filth that's being put on @YouTubeIndia in the name of gaming content. You can also file a case if you've been victims of them.

At least try and report them to authorities. I can't go after everyone.

    Thanks.

A lot of players and stakeholders of the community have now come forward and pointed out Neyoo's past behaviour and called it shameful. However, since then, Neyoo has released an apology and gave a reason for why he "lost his calm" on a minor.

YouTube has also acknowledged the matter and said that they will look into the matter. The Google-owned platform also mentioned that they take all these matters very seriously and will take strict action against him.
